Distance Education
Drake can help organizations manage educational situations in which the instructor and students are separated by time, location, or both. Education or training courses are delivered to remote locations via synchronous or asynchronous means of instruction, including written correspondence, text, graphics, CD-ROM, online learning, and facsimile. Distance learning does not preclude the use of the traditional classroom.

Synchronous Learning
Using PictureTalk ™ by Pixion, a Drake technology company tool, learning can made more effective and efficient by using synchronous collaborative communication that allows participants to interact simultaneously in real time through methods such as live chats, visual, voice, and data collaboration, and electronic whiteboards. With PictureTalk, a real-time, instructor-led online learning event can take place where all participants are logged on at the same time and are communicating directly with each other. In a "virtual classroom", the instructor maintains control of the class, with the ability to "call on" participants who raise their electronic hands from a distant location. Students and teachers can collaborate using a whiteboard to visually see work in progress and share knowledge. Teachers can spontaneously assess and poll students to determine if students are grasping concepts, or to gauge level of interest in a topic.
